  • Ensure your Consultant always knows your availability
  • Always arrive on time or a few minutes early, check the train, tram and bus timetables or parking facilities
  • Always ensure appropriate business attire is worn
  • Do not be afraid to ask questions if you require clarification
  • Be flexible and always seek more work if you have spare time
  • Keep information obtained on assignments confidential
  • Always communicate in an effective, courteous and professional manner
  • Always take the time to proof read your work, this avoids making simple mistakes
  • Introduce yourself to colleagues as a temporary from Hugo
  • Clarify with your supervisor the most convenient time for you to take your break
  • Make personal calls during a meal break and not on time billed to the client
  • Remember e-mail and internet usage is for work purposes only and not personal use
  • Switch off your mobile phone whilst on assignment
  • Try to schedule appointments after work or during breaks so you are not interrupting your working day
  • If you are covering for a permanent employee on holidays or illness, leave a note for them welcoming them back:
  • Let them know any information they may need on their return
  • List names of documents you created during their break


Preparation for the interview



  • Know the exact time and location of your interview, allowing time for unforseen delays
  • Ensure you know the correct spelling, title and pronunciation of the interviewer
  • Research the company’s website before attending the interview so you are fully informed of their products/services, history, financial position, office locations this will also enable you to ask intelligent questions
  • Refresh your memory on your current and past employers
  • Review the position description and selection criteria for the position
